S. Korean Authorities' Crackdown upon Action against Construction of Naval Base on Jeju Island Slammed

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- The Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society of south Korea in a statement on March 30 denounced the puppet military group for their action to crack down upon inhabitants and peace activists who turned out in a struggle against the construction of the naval base on Jeju Island.

The statement hit out at the naval force for suppressing inhabitants in Kangjong village and peace activists, who conducted a peaceful protest action, by passing the buck for the delayed construction upon them.

The statement declared that organizations opposed to the construction project would carry on the positive protest action against the unreasonable crackdown by the naval force and the regime in solidarity with inhabitants in Kangjong village on Jeju Island and peace activists.
