The newspaper said that the word "self-development" is now being often heard in the DPRK.

In an article subtitled "Treasured sword of victories" it said:

Self-development is the force making one grow strong by oneself.

The Korean people could build the firm self-supporting national economy and manufacture and launch satellites in the spirit of self-reliance and self-development.

DPRK's self-development is indeed the treasured sword that helped the Korean people advance along the road of victory despite all trials of history.

In an article subtitled "Driving force for building thriving nation" the newspaper noted:

In the DPRK that regards self-development as an important motive force for building a thriving socialist nation, the principle of giving priority to self-development based on the modern science and technology is being stressed and the drive for educating all the people to be well versed in science and technology and developing the country into a science and technology power is progressing apace.

The Korean people will certainly accomplish the cause of building a thriving nation by their own efforts, technology and resource as they are maintaining the principle of giving priority to self-development.
