The statement said:

On the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the progressive people of Serbia paid the highest tribute to President Kim Il Sung, a prominent revolutionary, gifted strategist and great son of the Korean people.

The President was a political elder who dedicated his all to the development of the Korean revolution and the global movement for socialism.

He liberated the Korean people from the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists and turned the DPRK into a socialist land of bliss by holding aloft the banner of the Juche idea.

He enunciated the idea of reunifying the country independently and peacefully free from foreign interference and worked heart and soul to carry it out.

He was a genuine model of internationalists who positively supported and encouraged the peoples of various countries in their struggle for independence of their countries and the building of new society, and firmly defended the banner of socialism.

He will always be remembered by progressive mankind and his idea and cause will be successfully carried forward and accomplished by Marshal Kim Jong Un.
