Minju Joson Discloses Illegality of U.S. Forces' Occupation of S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- A recent issue of the Chinese newspaper Huan Qiu Shibao in an article disclosed the illegality of the "U.S.-south Korea mutual defense treaty", a "legal foundation" of the U.S. military occupation of south Korea. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday says that the U.S. is taking much pain to attach legality to its military occupation of south Korea and describe even the aggressive joint military exercises as those for coping with someone's "threat" but the illegality of its military presence is the unbiased world opinion. The commentary goes on: By origin, the U.S. has no justification to occupy south Korea militarily. Korea is no defeated nation in the Second World War like Japan. The U.S. forces, however, landed in south Korea under the pretext of "disarming" defeated Japanese troops. The U.S. formed a military alliance with its followers and is using them as a shock brigade in carrying out its criminal strategy for stifling the DPRK by force of arms. Such moves are posing a serious threat to the DPRK's sovereignty and right to existence and creating such an extremely dangerous situation on the Korean peninsula that a war may break out any time. In the final analysis, the U.S. military presence in south Korea is a main factor of constant tension on the peninsula. This goes to prove once again that the "U.S.-south Korea mutual defense treaty" is, indeed, illegal both in name and reality. The root cause of misfortune should be rooted out in time. If the international community sincerely desires peace in Korea and the rest of Asia and the world, it should completely destroy the den of wolves in south Korea as soon as possible. |
