Anti-"Government" Action Staged by KCTU
Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) held a meeting for inheriting the April 3 resistance before the Jeju City Office on Sunday, according to the south Korean newspaper Nodong and Segye.

At the meeting speakers said that 68 years have passed since the people of Jeju Island held aloft the flag of resistance to oppose the Syngman Rhee clique's "separate elections" and build a reunified country.

They declared that the forthcoming "elections" are not simple "National Assembly" elections but a struggle for ensuring peace on the Korean peninsula by punishing the warmongers and an anti-regime action for punishing the rulers enforcing policies against the people and democracy and humiliating diplomacy.

A resolution was read out at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting its participants staged a demonstration.

Upon arrival at the island on March 2 members of the confederation went round the places where islanders were mercilessly killed during the uprising to honor their memory.
