The bulletin carried a portrait of smiling Kim Il Sung.

It said in an article titled "President Kim Il Sung, great master in era of independence" that independence was the revolutionary creed, mode and practices that he kept and applied all his life.

It praised him as the prominent leader who made and added shine to the contemporary history by leading the Korean revolution to victories under the banner of independence.

It noted that in his early years he indicated with rare wisdom and insight the immutable truth that independence is the lifeline of the popular masses, country and nation and in order to win independence it is necessary to reject flunkeyism and dogmatism and make a revolution independently and creatively.

It said that he firmly adhered to the principle of national independence based on the Juche idea in accomplishing the cause of national reunification. It went on:
