Present at the event were officials of the ministries, national institutions, social organizations and the fields of public health and media, the representative of the WHO, the UN resident coordinator and concurrently UNDP resident representative, members of the missions of international bodies, foreign diplomatic envoys and members of their embassies here.

Speakers said that the WHO raised the theme "Let us prevent diabetes by taking good care of health" and provided an occasion of making contribution to promoting the health.

They called for intensifying the hygienic information service, scientific research and prophylactic treatment for preventing noninfectious diseases, diabetes, in particular.

Data on prevention and control of diabetes were published.

The participants appreciated an art performance given by a hygienic information disseminating team of pupils after looking around the foodstuffs for curing diabetes on display.

Prior to the event, a demonstration of the rhythmic exercise was held by the old persons.

On the same day the intensive hygienic information service took place in every province.
