21st Cooking Festival Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The 21st Cooking Festival took place at the Pyongyang Noodle House from April 6 to 8 with the approach of the Day of the Sun (the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung).

It was divided into the exhibition of scientific and technical achievements in cooking, exhibition of famous dishes and local specialties, exhibition of compulsory dishes and the contest of practical skills and demonstration of cooks and waiters and waitresses.

It was attended by at least 60 units of ministries and national institutions and all provinces.

Presented there were more than 1,200 dishes and drinks made by those in the public service field across the country in a peculiar manner and over 70 scientific and technical achievements.

On display were dishes and processed foodstuff and processing equipment contrived and introduced by public catering establishments in recent years, cuisine books, CDs, etc.

Other exhibitions revved up the mood of the festival.

There were also demonstration of cooks and waiters and waitresses of various units such as Hyangmanru Restaurant, Yanggakdo International Hotel and the Central District Restaurants Management Office.

A closing ceremony of the festival was held on Friday.
