Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, army and state officials, the chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, officials of the party and armed forces organs, Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, officials of institutions, industrial establishments and labor innovators in Pyongyang.

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, made a report at the meeting.

He said:

The sacred title as chairman of the NDC of the DPRK is deeply cherished not only by the army and people of the DPRK but also by the progressives as his noble image and banner of all victories and glory as it comprehensively represents the personality of Kim Jong Il as a matchlessly great man and the great exploits he performed on behalf of the country, revolution, times and history.

He explored a new way of building the socialist state in the Songun era guided by the original Songun revolutionary idea and established the state machinery with the NDC as a pivot of national defense, thus providing a powerful weapon for implementing the Songun politics.

He consolidated in every way the single-minded unity of the leader, party, army and people, the mainstay of the revolution, building a powerful driving force for the Korean revolution and glorifying the DPRK as an invincible political and ideological power for the first time in the world.

He steadily bolstered up the country's military capabilities with the Korean People's Army as the core, turning the DPRK into a world's military power and firmly defending the socialist country.

He laid a solid material and technological foundation for enabling the DPRK to rapidly develop into a prosperous socialist economic power.

His idea and cause of nation-building in the Songun era are being successfully carried forward by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un held in high esteem Kim Jong Il as eternal chairman of the NDC of the DPRK reflecting the unanimous will of the army and people of the DPRK and the best wishes of all Koreans and put forward Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the ever-lasting guiding idea of our party and revolution and developed the DPRK government into a powerful political weapon to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

He has bolstered up the country's defence capability with nuclear force as its pivot as firm as a rock under the uplifted banner of Songun, thus putting the country's dignity and national power on the highest level and demonstrating its might before the whole world.

The reporter called for steadily augmenting the overall national power of the DPRK under the uplifted banner of the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and ushering in the greatest heyday of building a thriving nation this year when the Seventh Congress of the WPK is to be held.

The reporter stressed the need to hold in high esteem Kim Jong Il as eternal chairman of the NDC of the DPRK for all ages, adhere to the principle of independence, Songun and socialism which he regarded as his maxim and embodied all his life in the nation-building and activities and thus steadily demonstrate the dignity and might as Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's state which stands unshakable despite complicated world-wide political upheavals.

The reporter called for sharpening the treasured sword of nuclear weapons for self-defence in order to contain and frustrate the last-ditch desperate war hysteria for aggression kicked off by the U.S. imperialists and their followers, firmly defend the country's sovereignty and dignity and certainly achieve the country's reunification, the greatest desire of the nation.

The DPRK government will as ever boost the solidarity with the world people opposing aggression and war, domination and subjugation and expand and develop the friendly and cooperative relations with all countries that respect the sovereignty of the DPRK and are friendly towards it, the reporter concluded, he added.
