Noting the U.S. attempts to shift the blame for the escalating tension on the Korean peninsula onto the DPRK, the statement said:

It is as clear as noonday that the dangerous situation on the Korean peninsula has been caused by the U.S.

The U.S. has turned south Korean into the biggest nuclear arsenal in the Far East and posed a nuclear threat to the DPRK.

The DPRK was compelled to develop nuclear weapons as a means of self-defence.

No country and government in the world will tolerate such a hysterical challenge as running amuck to eliminate the leadership of a sovereign state through special operations.

If such military exercises are staged near the border of Russia, it will also react like the DPRK.

It is the lesson taught by history and the present stark reality that humiliating restraint or concession inevitably lead to ruin and turmoil.

The editorial board of the Russian newspaper Leninski Puchi in an e-mail to the DPRK embassy in Moscow expressed full support and solidarity with the army and people of the DPRK resolutely countering the U.S. imperialists' and the south Korean puppet forces' mad-cap moves of aggression.
