In this regard, Kim Sung Chol, director of the Ministry of Fisheries, said:

The government has paid big efforts to the implementation of this policy, seeing to it that nurseries were built in rivers and seashores to release numbers of fry and sea animals in rivers, lakes and seas every year.

With the protection months as an occasion, fishing stations in eastern and western coastal areas of the country concentrate efforts on the cultivation of sea animals and plants through introduction of advanced technologies.

Also, a work goes on to give wide publicity to the WPK's fishery policy and the state laws and regulations on the protection and proliferation of marine resources.

Meanwhile, the survey of marine resources is conducted on a scientific basis and detailed plans are worked out to set no-fishing zones and sanctuaries for fishes and animals in the sea.
