According to Kim Hyon Chol, section chief of the House, the exhibition was established in November Juche 103 (2014) and it has a significant role to play in the nation's architectural development.

Its mission is to ensure the dissemination of science and technology and the exchange of technologies and products.

Displayed there are thousands of kinds of building-fixtures presented by building-materials institutes and some 100 building-materials production units.

They include wainscot, ceiling board and shutter board made of light burned magnesia, household furniture and utensils made of natural stone, functional and waterproof paints, multi-purpose tiles, granite detergents and various kinds of sanitary wares, produced this year.
