The site is associated with the war victory exploits of President Kim Il Sung who visited it several times during the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War, encouraged the working people in the munitions field to a heroic struggle for the wartime production of weapons.

The visitors laid bouquets before the mosaic portraying the President visiting an ordnance factory during the war, and paid tribute to him.

They went round the 120mm mortar shop, tool shop, hand grenade shop, bullet shop and other places, being briefed on the fact that the President showed warm loving care and solicitude to the Kunjari workers and laid a firm foundation for the self-reliant national defence industry.
