The President, who inherited two pistols from his father, started the Songun (military-first) revolutionary leadership with the foundation of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army on April 25, Juche 21 (1932).

During the anti-Japanese war, he created unique strategies and guerrilla tactics to defeat the Japanese imperialists who dreamt of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere", and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation. Typical of them are a tactic of marching a long distance at a step, large-unit circling operation and lure-and-attack tactics.

In the 1950-1953 Fatherland Liberation War, he set forth superb strategies and tactics like the formation of the second front behind the enemy lines, active positional defense battle, tunnel warfare and aircraft-hunting team, tank-hunting team and sniper team movements to bring about the beginning of a decline for the U.S. imperialists.

Under his leadership, the Korean People's Army worked such world-startling miracles as the victory in the siege of Taejon, shooting down B-29s and torpedoing the heavy cruiser Baltimore during the war.

After the war, he won only victories in the decades-long confrontation with the U.S. imperialists to creditably defend the destiny of the country and nation.

Now the DPRK people have won victory after victory in the fierce confrontation with the U.S.-led imperialists under the leadership of Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, demonstrating the dignity and might of Songun Korea.
