A network was built up for the system between the Academy of Koryo Medicine in Pyongyang and Koryo medicine hospitals in provinces and municipalities.

The system consists of medical service for professionals and patients and glossary and data on Koryo medicines.

Telemedicine service began operating in the country in Juche 99 (2010).
