Present there on invitation were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, officials of the youth league, officials concerned, war veterans and persons of merits.

Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the Central Committee of the youth league, said the history of love for the younger generation and future shown by Kim Il Sung who successfully trained the reserves of the revolution has been given a steady continuity thanks to leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He called on all KCU members to make proud successes in their study, organizational life, socio-political activities and do-good-thing movement this year marking the 70th birthday of the KCU and thus prepare themselves to be genuine KCU members of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il's Korea dynamically advancing under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Then followed a KCU admission ceremony.

The new KCU members took an oath led by Choe Ryong Hae.

Officials, war veterans and persons of merits put red ties around their necks and pinned KCU badges on their clothes.

The new KCU members made the first salute of the KCU members, responding to the slogan of "Let us be always ready for socialist country!"

Congratulatory speeches were made.
