The newspaper was established and has developed to be a reliable means for educating the young people under the leadership of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu into an organ of the youth league which represents the idea and policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on attaching importance to the young people.

President Kim Il Sung sent his autographic letter in celebration of the founding of the newspaper on April 20, Juche 35 (1946) and indicated the way for it to follow in every stage of the developing revolution to lead it to discharge its mission as a revolutionary newspaper for educating the young people.

Leader Kim Jong Il made sure that the newspaper became an advanced base of media and an educator and bugler sounding advance to a huge unit of young vanguard carrying forward the cause of the party in the van.

The newspaper has successfully fulfilled its responsibility and mission in the course of its glorious development under the warm care and leadership of the great leaders in the past seven decades.

A celebration meeting was held at the Central Youth Hall on Tuesday.
