Workers Meet DPRK Hero

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- Workers and trade union members met a DPRK hero at the People's Palace of Culture Wednesday in the run-up to the 84th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA). Twice DPRK Hero Kim Ki U, a lecturer at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, made a speech at the meeting. He said that he downed 10 odd planes of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in 1951 alone by fighting by the method taught by President Kim Il Sung who provided a key to hunting enemy planes after initiating the movement of aircraft-hunting teams during the Fatherland Liberation War. He recollected the President made sure that he was awarded the title of Twice DPRK Hero and sent a congratulatory message to him, highly praising his distinguished feats in hunting enemy planes. Under the Songun revolutionary guidance of leader Kim Jong Il, the KPA developed into the elite revolutionary Paektusan army and the greatest heyday has been opened up in the Juche-based cause of building the army thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Un, he added. Listening to the hero's story, the participants grasped the noble ideological and moral world of the war veterans who turned out in a sacred war for annihilating the enemy and devotedly defended the party and revolution, country and its people by sacrificing their youth and lives, true to the outstanding military strategy and idea of the President during the Fatherland Liberation War. |
