Fine Art Exhibition Draws Many Visitors

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The Songhwa fine art exhibition opened at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on April 12 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the birthday anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (April 15), drawing many experts, fans and other citizens. Put on display at the exhibition are nearly 70 fine art pieces presented by painters in their seventies and eighties. Seen in the exhibition hall is a fine art work depicting smiling Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. What catch one's eye are Korean painting "President Kim Il Sung's birthplace in Mangyongdae" and oil painting "Mangyongdae in April". Korean painting "We'll Go to Mt. Paektu" and oil painting "Mt. Paektu in Winter" feature grandiose looks of Mt. Paektu. Seeing oil painting "Letters of Faith" and Korean painting "Bamboo", visitors renewed their resolve never to abandon revolutionary faith. Among fine art pieces are those showing goshawk (national bird of the DPRK, pine (national tree), magnolia (national flower), scenic beauties as well as the look of children playing folk games. |
