Omar Lopez, chairman of the Venezuelan National Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to give wide publicity to the exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and reality of socialist Korea ushering in the great heyday of building a thriving nation among the Venezuelan people and dynamically launch activities for supporting the just cause of the Korean people on the occasion of the significant days in 2017.
