Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- The Korean Association for Supporting the Children has made contributions to improving health and living conditions of children. According to Kim Myong Chol, section chief of the association, some areas in Pyongyang City and South Hamgyong, North and South Phyongan and Kangwon provinces were selected as its targets. Its offices opened in those areas and mobile clinics equipped with pediatric appliances are run in remote areas. The Songyo Children's Clinic was built in the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill in April last year, which is followed by other children's clinics now under construction in target areas. Meanwhile, a process of producing nutrients for children was set up at the foodstuff factory in Riwon County, South Hamgyong Province under the assistance program of the association. The association, founded on November 21, Juche 102 (2013), is planning to expand the sphere of its activities, create the social atmosphere for assisting children and help children and pregnant and nursing women in case of emergency by keeping close contact with medical volunteers. In the DPRK, May 20 and November 20 are the Child Health Day. |
