Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- Large-scale actions of workers were waged across south Korea on May Day to denounce the unpopular labor rule of the Park Geun Hye group of traitors and win the right to labor. The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) launched the "2016 meeting for world labor day" and demonstrations in 15 areas of south Korea including Seoul. Attending the rally held in Seoul were workers of the KCTU and members of organizations including the Federation of Peasants Associations, more than 50 000 in all. Speakers said that the KCTU would submit bills reflecting the will of the workers to the 20th "National Assembly" and launch large-scale general strike and all-out action for realizing the vital right early in July. They noted that the KCTU would not stop an action till the "five-point demand" is met. They demanded the authorities scrap the evil laws of labor and "double guidelines" and set free the workers detained including the chairman of the KCTU. That day the south Korean Federation of Trade Unions held a rally at Seoul Square with the attendance of more than 50 000 workers. It demanded the "government" stop at once the retrogressive revision of the labor law and take measures for the vital rights of the workers. |
