Present at the opening ceremony were Chairwoman of the National Peace Committee of Korea Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Thae Hyong Chol, president of the university and minister of Higher Education, officials, teachers and students of several universities, a delegation of the International Peace Foundation headed by Chairman of its Advisory Board Alfred, prince of the Liechtenstein Principality, diplomatic envoys and members of foreign embassies here and foreign correspondents.

There took place round-table talks and academic exchanges between teachers and students of the relevant universities and the members of the delegation of the International Peace Foundation at Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in the period of the event.

Introduced there were discoveries and inventions which were recorded in the history of civilization and their scientific significance and exchanged there were successes and experience made in the fields of economics, chemistry and medicine.
