The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex introduced the high-temperature air-combustion technology into the plate-rolling heating furnace and established a production process for assorting anthracite with the capacity of hundreds of thousands tons.

The Chollima Steel Complex set up the oxygen separator process to cut power consumption, boost the production and improve the quality of steel.

It also built the refining process based on argon gas and a base for producing fire-proof materials with the annual capacity of thousands tons.

An anthracite briquette production base with a capacity of tens of thousands tons was built at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and a long-distance refuse belt conveyer completed at the Musan Mining Complex to raise the hauling capacity 1.4 times.

The Unryul Mine finished the installation of a plate feed chute for 2 200-hp stripping equipment, raising stripping capability five times and saving 570 000 kWh of electricity for a year.

The Jangsan Mine established the anthracite gasification process with big capacity and built a kiln by introducing high-temperature air-combustion technology to improve the quality of fire-proof material.
