Preparatory committees for celebrating the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star (the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il) were inaugurated in dozens of countries, which was followed by the formation of regional and national preparatory committees in Moscow, Sankt-Peterburg, Nakhodka and Khabarovsk of Russia, Mexico, Uganda, Tanzania, Nepal, Pakistan and Romania and by the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.

Foreign media were brisk revving up the atmosphere of praising the President.

The President was awarded orders of honor by a provincial legislative council and a district council in Venezuela and the title of honorary citizen by a city of Ecuador. He was registered as honorary chairman by the Communist Party of DR Congo.

The Cambodian king and great queen, and public personages, political parties, government ministries, institutions and organizations in various countries sent floral baskets and bouquets to the DPRK missions in their countries.

Personages of political parties and organizations of many countries and regional bodies visited DPRK missions, in which they laid floral baskets and bouquets before the portraits of the smiling President and leader Kim Jong Il and full-length paintings depicting them standing together before paying tribute to them.

Organizations and personages of political parties in various countries those of various circles released statements to praise the exploits of the President.
