Hong Chol Jun, an officer of the Korean People's Army (KPA), told KCNA:

KPA Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un ushered in a golden age of strengthening the revolutionary armed forces with his idea of Juche-based army-building, strategy and tactics and distinguished commanding art, firmly determined to accomplish the great cause of Paektu with arms.

The KPA under his commandership has grown into the most powerful army in the world, equipped with latest offensive and defensive means, which is ready to defeat at one stroke any formidable enemies who dare infringe upon the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

We, servicepersons, will readily risk our lives to defend the Party and the leader, the country and the people, mindful that the victorious advance of the Songun (military-first) revolution is ensured by our intense loyalty to the Supreme Commander.

His election to the top post of the WPK will reliably guarantee the eternal prosperity of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea.

Ri Hye Suk, chairwoman of the management board of the Samjigang Co-op Farm in Jaeryong County, said:

We, agricultural workers standing on the first line trench of the first echelon in defence of socialism, are now replete with a great joy at the special event of the nation.
