Ho Ryong Ho, a department director of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, told KCNA that Kim Jong Un's election as chairman of the WPK is a historic event of great significance in strengthening the WPK and a great national event.

He said:

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has long led the WPK and the Korean revolution since he began accompanying leader Kim Jong Il in carrying on the Songun revolution.

He has further enriched the ideological and theoretical treasurehouse of Kimilsungism and Kimjongilism and brought about a radical turn in bolstering up the self-defensive capabilities of the country.

A number of great achievements have been made in the general advance for building an economic giant.

Servicepersons and people in the country have been keenly moved by his outstanding leadership ability, matchless pluck and noble virtue.

Officials of the ministry are fully determined to uphold his idea and leadership with loyalty, cherishing deep in mind the pride of electing him as the WPK chairman.

Ri Hye Jong, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, said:

The election of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to the top post of the WPK is an expression of absolute trust and strong support to him who has demonstrated the dignity and invincibility of the great Paektusan nation all over the world by leading the Korean revolution to victory.

He encouraged the people to overcome grief at the loss of leader Kim Jong Il and provided a large flower garden of loving care for people by pursuing benevolent and all-embracing politics.

Our army and people are full of revolutionary enthusiasm to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Songun pioneered in Mt. Paektu, upholding him in high esteem as the center of unity and leadership.
