Bounnang Vorachith in his message extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Kim Jong Un upon his election as chairman of the WPK on behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and all the party members and on his own behalf.

Kim Jong Un's election to the top post of the WPK is an expression of the boundless trust of the whole party and state, the entire army and all the people of the fraternal DPRK in him leading the cause of defending the country and building a thriving socialist nation by successfully carrying forward the cause of the preceding leaders, the message noted.

It said:

I am firmly convinced that the fraternal Korean people would continue achieving fresher great successes in defending the country and building prosperous socialist Korea, guided by the Juche idea and Songun line, under the valiant leadership of the WPK headed by you.

Availing myself of this auspicious opportunity, I hope that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties, two countries and two peoples of Laos and the DPRK would continue developing.
