A session of the "National Assembly" (NA) for extending the period of activities of the Ad Hoc Committee for Probing the Truth behind the Ferry Sewol Disaster proved abortive on May 10 due to the boycott of lawmakers from the "Saenuri Party." This made it difficult to clear the motion calling for the revision of the special law on ferry Sewol within the 19th NA.

After being sternly punished by the people's mindset at the 20th "National Assembly" election, the present chief executive and the "Saenuri Party" are doggedly opposing the demand of the people for extending and intensifying the activities of the said Ad Hoc Committee by revising the special law on ferry Sewol.
