Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Ri Ok Suk, women centenarian residing in Neighborhood Unit No. 30 of Somun-dong in Central District, Pyongyang. She was born into a poor peasant family in South Chungchong Province on May 17, Juche 5 (1916). During the Fatherland Liberation War, too, President Kim Il Sung was deeply concerned about the medical treatment of her, the widow of Kim Sam Ryong, a patriotic martyr who sacrificed himself for the independent reunification of the country, and the life of her family members, and showed them benevolent care to be handed down through generations. She displayed patriotism for the prosperity of the country in the postwar rehabilitation and construction and socialist construction out of her loyalty to repay the love and trust of the party. She was awarded a watch bearing the august name of the President and high-level state commendation, took part in various conferences such as the National Conference of Families of Martyrs and was honored to have a photo taken with the President and leader Kim Jong Il. |
