The participants laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before an art piece depicting President Kim Il Sung standing together with leader Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.

Speeches were made by the chairman of the Communist Party in Sweden, Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, Juha Kieksy, chairman of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea who doubles as international secretary of the Finnish Communists' League, Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, and other figures.

Speakers warmly congratulated Kim Jong Un on his election as chairman of the WPK according to the unanimous will and desire of all party members, service personnel and other people, expressing their pleasure over holding the meeting to celebrate the successful 7th Congress of the WPK.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.

Also adopted there was a statement warmly congratulating Kim Jong Un on his election as chairman of the WPK.
