Present at the meeting were Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ju Yong Gil, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, officials concerned and working people in the city.

Kim Yong Jin made a report.

He said that Kim Il Sung who initiated the Pothong River improvement project right after the country's liberation delivered a speech at a ground-breaking ceremony on May 21, Juche 35 (1946) and personally broke the ground for the grand nature-remaking project.

He said:

In hearty response to the speech of Kim Il Sung the people launched the drive with patriotism and thus worked such an epoch-making miracle as finishing the project in a matter of just 55 days.

Thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung, the country turned into a people's paradise good to live in and work after erasing the traces of debris and destruction left by the colonial society and grim war.

The historic cause of the grand nature-harnessing was successfully carried forward and developed at a fresh high stage under the guidance of leader Kim Jong Il.

Supreme leader Kim Jong Un set it as the general orientation and general task to be carried out in the field of land management to radically change the appearance of the country's land as required by a thriving socialist nation and is wisely leading the drive for doing so.

The reporter called upon all the people to more dynamically conduct the grand nature-remaking project in hearty response to Kim Jong Un's plan for land development and bring about a revolutionary turn in the land management.
