Present at the ceremony were heads of state and governments of various countries, high-ranking officials of Africa, guests of honor, foreign diplomatic envoys there, vice-presidents, prime minister, speakers and members of the upper and lower houses of the parliament and other officials of Equatorial Guinea.

The Equatorial Guinean president paid tribute to the national flag and took an oath of office.

Kim Yong Nam congratulated President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and expressed the invariable support and solidarity of the Korean people for the cause of the Equatorial Guinean people.

He had been invited to the reception given by the president of Equatorial Guinea on Thursday.
