Recalling that people of Kwangju of south Korea rose up against the fascist colonial rule in May, 1980 and the Chun Doo Hwan military fascist junta brutally killed uprisers and innocent citizens under the backstage manipulation of the U.S., the statement said:

The bloody suppression of the Kwangju popular uprising was a massacre and this unethical crime was engineered by the U.S.

Though the uprising failed, it shook the U.S. imperialists' colonial rule and fascist dictatorship of south Korea to their very foundation.

It was a patriotic and democratic one against imperialism and fascism.

It kindled the torch of the protracted struggle of the south Koreans for democracy, independence and national reunification.

The U.S. imperialists and the pro-U.S. puppet clique of south Korea deserve international punishment for committing the Kwangju massacre.

The statement urged the U.S. imperialists to quit south Korea at once.
