It is a historic place to which President Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk came several times, guided the work of small units and groups of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and its political operatives and aroused the people from all walks of life to the all-people resistance for national liberation during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

Leader Kim Jong Il visited the battle site on May 23, Juche 90 (2001), saying that it serves as a precious treasure of the Korean revolution and one of important educational bases to arm the party members and other people, service personnel and school youth and children with the revolutionary tradition of the party. He gave an important instruction to successfully manage and operate the revolutionary battle site and intensify education through this.

Over the past 15 years, a lot of people have visited the battle site. They included service personnel, officials and other people of industrial establishments and universities across the country including the Capital City Construction Commission, Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology, and school youth and children.

Through the visits, they realized that the revolutionary tradition of Mt. Paektu, immortal lifeline of the Korean revolution, is the historic roots of the Workers' Party of Korea and the revolution, its lineage and the banner of eternal victory of Songun Korea.
