Speeches were made at the meeting.

Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, Takao Kamakura, director of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and Seiichi Sakugawa, adviser of the Japanese National Liaison Council of Societies for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, noted that the 7th Congress of the WPK was an event which clearly showed the miraculous reality of the DPRK as it frustrated every move of the imperialist forces headed by the U.S. to stifle the DPRK and defended and developed socialism.

Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, said that the 7th Congress of the WPK was the glorious one of victors which proclaimed Kim Jong Un's era to the world and recorded a brilliant chapter in the history of the WPK.

He noted that the congress was of greatest significance as it elected Marshal Kim Jong Un chairman of the WPK and powerfully demonstrated to the world the might of the steel-strong single-minded unity of the whole party and the entire people rallied around him.

Ri Yong Su, chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, and Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, made reports under the titles "On the historic significance of the 7th Congress of the WPK" and "Visit to Pyongyang alive with the atmosphere of celebrating the 7th Congress of the WPK."

They referred to the fact that the congress was convened at a time when the phase of a leap forward in accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche was opening up.

They said that the report on the review of the work of the Party Central Committee made by Kim Jong Un at the congress was an encyclopedic political programme which gives perfect answers to all issues arising in developing the WPK, building a socialist power, achieving national reunification and carrying out the cause of global independence.

They pledged to conduct a more dynamic movement to study and disseminate the Juche idea under the uplifted great banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and contribute to the friendship between the two countries.

Then the participants enjoyed a performance given to congratulate Kim Jong Un on his election as chairman of the WPK.
