S. Korean Authorities Urged to Send Back DPRK's Citizens Immediately

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), issued a statement on May 24 to denounce the south Korean authorities for alluring and abducting a group of the DPRK's citizens. The statement said that all the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan are hardly repressing surging resentment and hatred against the south Korean authorities for such unprecedented heinous terrorist act of taking a group of the DPRK's citizens to south Korea after alluring and abducting them as part of their frantic moves for vicious confrontation with fellow countrymen in the north and for war provocation. The abduction case is a premeditated and organized heinous anti-DPRK case aimed to tarnish the ever-mounting prestige of the DPRK and cook up a new "north wind" for the "National Assembly" election, the statement charged, and went on: The south Korean authorities should take all steps at once so that the families of the victims could go to Seoul to meet their daughters face to face as ardently requested by them. The south Korean authorities should accept the strong demand of the Koreans and world conscience, apologize for the unheard-of allurement and abduction and send the DPRK's women back without delay and unconditionally. If they continue concealing their crime and unreasonably keep the DPRK's citizens in custody, they will face the unanimous denunciation by all the Koreans and the international community. We hope that the progressive organizations and people of all countries including Japan would incriminate the unethical crime of the south Korean authorities, galvanize international opinion and thus make efforts so that the DPRK's citizens would come back to the care of their families at an early date. |
