Ju Yong Gil, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK), said this in a statement on Thursday.

Stressing that national reunification is sure to be achieved under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, the statement noted it is the unanimous will of the working class of the DPRK to become a brave standard-bearer and driving force in the nation-wide movement for national reunification.

It went on:

Our working class will turn out in the drive for paving the avenue to reunification, consistently holding fast to the three charters for national reunification which fully reflect the intention and demand of all Koreans and whose vitality was proved in practice.

It expressed expectation and belief that the working masses in south Korea including its workers will fulfill their responsibility and role for the times and the nation in the struggle for opening up a new chapter in the improvement of the north-south relations and the movement for national reunification by learning from the good precedents and experience gained in steering the reunification movement of all Koreans and contributing to the improvement of the north-south relations by pooling efforts with the workers in the northern half of Korea. It continued;

We will positively support the south Korean workers in their just struggle for rejecting the reckless political and military provocations and military drills being masterminded by the south Korean regime against the compatriots in the north, pursuant to the U.S., only to endanger peace and security on the Korean peninsula, and for removing all forms of legal and institutional mechanism against national reconciliation and unity and foiling the fascist suppression of the just patriotic struggle for reunification.
