DPRK's Architecture Introduced by U.S. Newspaper
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Los Angeles Times posted an article introducing the architecture in the DPRK on its website on May 20.

The article said:

Dozens of modern apartment buildings and service centers including 53-storied skyscraper of fantastic shape stand in rows in Mirae Scientists Street and they shed brilliant rays over the wave of the Taedong River.

There is the Sci-Tech Complex, a splendid edifice built in the shape of a huge structure of atom, on Ssuk Islet a little away from the above-said street.

Magnificent buildings were built and large green areas laid out as befitting the socialist city of Pyongyang which had been reduced to debris during the Korean war in the 1950s.

In recent years Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of north Korea, has given the city facelift despite international sanctions.

In a word, the brightly lit city is undergoing facelift thanks to unique ideas.

The article referred to the fact that cultural and welfare facilities for people such as wading pool, fun fair and ski resort were successfully built along with modern streets across the country and a terminal of Pyongyang International Airport was built in a magnificent and fashionable style under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Pyongyang-style architecture is drawing the attention of foreign architects and students, it stressed, adding:

An Italian architect was so impressed to visit Pyongyang that he published a book introducing it as a model city.
