Kim Jong Un's Election as Chairman of WPK Celebrated by Chongryon Organizations

| Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- There took place meetings by the organizations of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) to celebrate the election of supreme leader Kim Jong Un as chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). The Osaka Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon held a meeting in the Korean Hall in Osaka on May 24. Pu Yong Uk, chairman of the headquarters, in a report said that Kim Jong Un was elected chairman of the WPK at its Seventh Congress. He stressed the need to hold Kim Jong Un with loyalty to the last as he is leading the Korean nation to victory. He called for splendidly decorating this significant year when the Seventh Congress of the WPK was held as a year for further demonstrating the might of Chongryon which has grown under the care of the great leaders. The Hokkaido Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon held a meeting at the hall of the headquarters on the same day. Similar meetings took place at the Hyogo, Fukuoka and Aichi prefectural headquarters on May 21 and 22. Letters to Kim Jong Un were read out at the meetings. |
