Nigerian Body Urges S. Korean Authorities to Respond to DPRK's Proposal
Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism posted on its internet homepage the article titled "South Korean authorities should positively respond to DPRK's demand for peace and security" on May 24.

The article said that the National Defence Commission of the DPRK solemnly demanded the south Korean authorities tide over the serious situation created in the north-south Korean relations through dialogue and negotiations, true to the great programme for national reunification set forth by Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jong Un.

The south Korean authorities should immediately respond to the proposal of the DPRK for jointly paving the way of building military confidence after ending all hostile acts, stumbling blocks fostering mistrust and confrontation and hindering the improvement of relations between the north and the south, the article noted.

They should accept the proposal of the DPRK to defuse military tensions on the Korean peninsula and open at an early date the north-south military talks for solving all the problems arising in improving the north-south relations, it noted.

They should repay the great expectation of the nation by actively joining in the practical measures of the DPRK to ensure the peace on the peninsula and security of the nation, the article added.

It hoped that the north and the south of Korea would defuse the military tensions, remove the danger of conflict, improve the inter-Korean relations through dialogue and open up a new chapter of the movement for national reunification as early as possible.
