DPRK Makes Progress in River Improvement Project
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- A signal progress was made in river improvement project and bank-protecting forestation of the DPRK during the spring general mobilization for land administration.

According to data from the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, more than 600 km-long rivers were rearranged and 200 hectares of bank-protecting forests created throughout the country.

In North Phyongan Province, embankment project was completed in nearly 2 km-long section along the River Amnok to protect Sinuiju City from flooding.

Similar project was also carried out in various parts of South Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces.

Meanwhile, Kyongwon and Onsong counties of North Hamgyong Province created tens of hectares of bank-protecting forests respectively, along the bank of the River Tuman.
