Present there were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Su Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, children and women here.

Present there on invitation were staff members of foreign embassies and missions of international bodies here, foreign children and women and other foreign guests and overseas Koreans.

Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, in a speech warmly congratulated the children across the country and foreign children on the International Children's Day.

Thanks to supreme leader Kim Jong Un our children's future is rosy, she said, expressing belief that the children would stoutly grow up to be the sunflowers trusting and following him only and pillars of the future who are knowledgeable, virtuous and healthy.

Then followed colorful sports and amusement games between the "squirrel" team and the "hedgehog" team while a folk play of children was under way.

At the end of the games the participants spent a pleasant time, dancing and using amusement facilities.

Meanwhile, diverse events took place in provinces, cities and counties on the occasion.
