Kim Hyong Jik and Idea of "Aim High"
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- 90 years has passed since the demise of indomitable revolutionary fighter Kim Hyong Jik (June 5, 1926).

On this occasion, the DPRK people are recalling the revolutionary life of Kim Hyong Jik who set forth the idea of "Aim High" and dedicated his all to the independence of the country and emancipation of the proletarian people.

"Aim High" is an idea calling for liberating the country by fighting through generations.

With this idea, he groped for a way to liberate the country and formed the Korean National Association, an anti-Japanese underground revolutionary organization.

He even got his idea more hardened though he was subjected to bloody tortures after being arrested by the Japanese imperialists.

After the release from prison, he composed a poem "The Green Pine-tree on Nam Hill", which represents his resolve to achieve the independence of the country at any cost by fighting through generations.

He demonstrated the inevitability of the proletarian revolution and advanced a policy of shifting the anti-Japanese national liberation movement from nationalist movement to proletarian revolution.

President Kim Il Sung, keeping the idea of "Aim High" deep in his mind, led the anti-Japanese war and the anti-U.S. war to victory and built a socialist country centered on the masses.

Now, the idea of "Aim High" is creditably carried forward by supreme leader Kim Jong Un, who energetically leads the drive for building a thriving socialist nation.
