Senior Officials Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt. Paektu

| Samjiyon, June 5 (KCNA) -- Leading officials of the state and army, officials of the party and armed forces organs, Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions toured the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu. They laid bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung at the Samjiyon Grand Monument and paid tribute to him. They visited the Samjiyon Revolutionary Museum on Saturday and looked round the photos of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and the historical materials on display there, being briefed on their exploits and those of Marshal Kim Jong Un. They visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp and looked round the historical relics preserved there. And they laid bouquets before the mosaic depicting the three commanders of Mt. Paektu there and made a bow. They also toured the Sajabong secret camp, the Pegaebong Bivouac, Samtogong log cabin where Kim Jong Il spent a night with members of the expedition group on June 9, Juche 45 (1956), and several places of the lodging quarters of visitors to the Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site built as a camping place of the visitors. They climbed Mt. Paektu after going round the Mudubong secret camp on June 5. |
