State Commendations Awarded to Crewmen of DPRK

Jungsan, June 7 (KCNA) -- State commendations were awarded to crewmen of Fishing Boat 1728 of the Second Fleet of the Kamapho Fishery Station under the South Phyongan Provincial Fishery Management Bureau with due ceremony on Tuesday. The crewmen of the boat overfulfilled their fishing plan every year and gave full play to the spirit of devotedly defending the leader when it was sunk by sea storm in the period of the 70-day campaign. Present at the ceremony were Pak Thae Song, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kang Hyong Bong, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, and officials and employees of the fishery station and bereaved families. The title of Labor Hero of the DPRK and Gold Medal (Hammer and Sickle) and Order of National Flag First Class conferred upon Hong Song Gwan, former captain of Fishing Boat 1728 were conveyed to his bereaved family. Order of National Flag Second Class awarded to former deputy captain Kang Chol Nam, former chief engineer O Chun Il, former fishermen Kim Sung Bom, Choe Yong Nam, Choe Ki Dok, Kim Chol Un and Choe Tong Phil was also conveyed to their bereaved families. The bereaved families and the manager of the fishery station in their speeches said that Marshal Kim Jong Un highly praised the deeds of the ordinary fishermen and made sure that they are known throughout the country and always remembered by people. They vowed to deeply trust and follow the Workers' Party of Korea only and devote themselves to the struggle for attaining the goals of the 200-day campaign of the station by learning from the spirit displayed by their husbands and bring up their children as true loyalists of the party. |
