The completion of the factory made it possible to smoothly produce and supply with indigenous efforts, technology and materials various kinds of sports apparatuses for developing specialized sports field and popularizing physical culture and sports and making them part of their life.

The factory went operational with due ceremony on Tuesday.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, Ro Tu Chol, Ri Jong Mu, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, officials concerned, soldier builders who participated in the construction of the factory, scientists and technicians, and officials and employees of the factory.

Choe Ryong Hae, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, made an inaugural speech.

He said the factory which developed under the warm care of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il has been rebuilt into a base for the production of sports apparatuses suited to the age of knowledge-based economy under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The Marshal chose the site of the factory in the best place, guided its layout and sent soldier builders to undertake the project, the speaker noted, adding that the Marshal was so kind as to settle issues arising in the construction.

He called for accelerating the construction of a sports powerhouse to carry out the important tasks set forth at the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and thus making positive contribution to glorifying the dignity and honor of Juche Korea before the world under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

At the end of the ceremony the participants went round the factory.
