Present there were Kim Yong Chol, vice-chairman of the C.C., the WPK, Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, the chairman of the C.C., the Korean Social Democratic Party, a vice-chairman of the C.C., the Chondoist Chongu Party, officials of public organizations and representatives of the DPRK government, political parties and organizations including the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the North Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the North Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification.

The joint conference discussed the item "On tasks of DPRK government, political parties and organizations to thoroughly carry out the policies for national reunification advanced by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the Seventh Congress of the WPK".

Yang Hyong Sop said in a report that the line and policies for national reunification set forth by Kim Jong Un are the cream of his infinite loyalty and noble patriotic will to firmly preserve the idea of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for national reunification and their leadership exploits and build a prosperous, reunified country on this land without fail.

The reporter went on:

Kim Jong Un, having the firm determination and will to certainly achieve the independent reunification of the country by carrying out the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, laid down the independent line for national reunification as required by the prevailing situation and the times and has wisely led the struggle to achieve national reunification at a new high stage.

All the Koreans should consistently adhere to the Juche-oriented line of national reunification advanced by Kim Jong Un and open up a broad avenue to reunification.

They should hold high the banner of national independence in the struggle for achieving national reunification.

They should hold high the banner of great national unity on the road of achieving national reunification.

They should make positive efforts to ensure peace and security on the Korean peninsula and achieve reunification by federal formula.

What is urgent for achieving the independent reunification of the country is to fundamentally improve the inter-Korean relations.

It is necessary to respect the agreements common to the nation and consistently implement it.

The reporter called upon all Koreans to turn out as one in the nation-wide struggle to build a dignified and prosperous reunified power, an envy of the world, on this land at any cost by thoroughly carrying out the policies for national reunification advanced by Kim Jong Un.

Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the C.C., the Korean Social Democratic Party, Won Tong Yon, director of the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, Jon Yong Nam, first secretary of the C.C., the youth league, Ju Yong Gil, chairman of the C.C., the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the C.C, the women's union, and Kang Ji Yong, chairman of the Religious Believers Council of Korea, made speeches.

The speakers fully supported and approved the new line and policies for national reunification advanced by Kim Jong Un at the Seventh Congress of the WPK, noting that they serve as the great programmes for national reunification as they clearly indicate the path of achieving the independent reunification of Korea at an early date and the patriotic banner of reunification to be held high to achieve the great unity of the nation and prosperity.

They stressed the need to get united as one irrespective of ideology and ism, political view and religious belief and wage a dynamic struggle to realize the great unity of the nation and the independent reunification of Korea and give further momentum to the reunification movement through solidarity and alliance with political parties, organizations and personages of social standings in south Korea supporting the three charters for national reunification.

They called for making all efforts to demonstrate the dignity and wisdom of the Korean nation and successfully hold events common to the nation for promoting the nation's reconciliation and unity on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Korea's liberation as an immediate task.

An appeal to all Koreans was adopted at the joint conference.
