Present there were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the KSDP and deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly from the KSDP.

They discussed measures to carry out the Juche-oriented line and policies for national reunification Marshal Kim Jong Un laid down at the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the Central Committee of the KSDP, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said the Juche-oriented line and policies on ensuring peace and security on the Korean peninsula, reunifying the country by federal formula and radically improving the inter-Korean relations under the uplifted banner of national independence and great national unity clarified by Kim Jong Un at the Seventh Congress of the WPK are the most fair and aboveboard great programme for national reunification and patriotic banner.

Expressing belief that the country would certainly be reunified in the near future when the Koreans work hard for it in line with the line and policies for national reunification advanced by Kim Jong Un, they declared the KSDP and all party members fully support the line and policies and will take the lead in the struggle to implement them.

The DPRK government, political parties and organizations at their joint conference discussed a measure for opening a broad avenue to national reunification and sent an appeal to all the Koreans, proposing to open a nationwide great meeting for reunification on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the liberation of the country, they noted, adding that this was a crucial proposal of great significance in deescalating the present tension on the Korean peninsula and giving the inter-Korean relations a fresh start.

They called on all Koreans truly desirous of the peace and reunification of the peninsula including representatives and prominent figures from the authorities, political parties and organizations from the north and the south to make positive efforts to bring the great national meeting to success.

The south Korean authorities should not groundlessly turn down the patriotic and constructive proposal of the DPRK but respond to the offer for settling the national issue and the issue of national reunification from an honest and sincere stance, they held.

The plenary meeting decided to send letters to the political parties of south Korea, calling for opening a broad avenue to independent reunification through great national unity.
