Players will compete in over ten events including football, basketball, volleyball and table-tennis in Phyongsong, Sariwon, Hamhung, etc.

Present at the opening ceremony were officials concerned, sports persons and working people and schoolchildren in Phyongsong City.

At the end of the ceremony there took place a women's football match between South Phyongan Province and Jagang Province.
